use this tool to generate a list of robot masters to be used in a megaman bounty hunt race.
USER GUIDE
In "Megaman Bounty Hunt", each player's goal is to be the first to defeat a specified set of robot masters from a set of Megaman games. The purpose of this tool is to generate that set.
There are two main ways to play "Megaman Bounty Hunt":
-
In "beat X robot masters from each game" mode, the player must defeat a set number of robot masters in each game. The player can specify how many robot masters from each game must be defeated, whether the games must be played in order, and whether each game is to be played once before repeating (lap mode). The entire list of robot masters to defeat is specified at the start of the race, allowing players to more easily plan their overall strategy for the race.
- If the players want a simple ordering, or if the players do not want to enforce an overall order and only want a list of robot masters organized by game, it is suggested to enable ordering and disable lap mode.
- If the players want to cycle through the games in a regular order, it is suggested to enable both ordering and lap mode.
- If the players want a somewhat less regular order, it is suggested to disable ordering and enable lap mode.
- If the players want a highly randomized order of robot masters, it is suggested to disable both ordering and lap mode.
Note: because Megaman 1 has only 6 robot masters, it is not possible to set the number of robot masters to beat to more than 6 if Megaman 1 is a selected game.
-
In "first to X" mode, the player must defeat a set number of robot masters from across all selected games. Unlike "beat X robot masters from each game" mode, the player will not necessarily defeat the same number of robot masters in each game. The player can specify the total number of robot masters to defeat, the number of robot masters to choose from at each step, and whether or not the choices at each step will necessarily be from the same game (super shuffle). Only one set of robot master choices is generated at a time in this mode, leading to unpredictable and exciting situations.
- If super shuffle is enabled, be sure that the number of total robot masters in the selected games is greater than or equal to: the number of robot masters to defeat plus the number of robot masters to choose from at each step, minus one. For example, if there are 16 total robot masters, and you give 4 options at each step, you can fight at most 13 robot masters.
- If super shuffle is not enabled, the most robot masters that can be selected from a given game is the number of robot masters in that game minus the number of robot masters to choose from at each step, plus one. For example, if you give 3 options at each step, and there are 8 robot masters in a given game, you will be able to fight robot masters from that game 6 times.
When playing this mode, your play group may wish to use an agreed-upon seed for the random number generator. Doing so will ensure that two players who make the same choices at each step will have the same set of options available to them.
Other rules to consider when playing "Megaman Bounty Hunt" are:
- Whether it is permitted to defeat a robot master that is not a current bounty target.
- In "beat X robot masters from each game" mode, whether the robot masters must be defeated in the order given.
- Anything else your play group decides is appropriate.
I hope this tool helps you compete at Megaman in an interesting way. If you have questions, feedback, or suggestions, please send them to "concavetriangle" on twitter.
