Before you can play, you'll need to make a character of your own. A character is an exceptional hero, and a combination of facts on a sheet and characteristics in your imagination. You choose a race such as protoss or etecoon and a class such as spoiler or medic, and powers that represent devices and techniques your character knows how to use to fight.
Throughout this ruleset, I'll use "you" to mean "your character" and "you the player" interchangeably. Helps with immersion. Creeps out hack comic artists who think of roleplaying as devil worship (which it only mostly is).
You need not worship Satan in order to play.
